Find your advisor
Each undergraduate student at VCU is assigned an academic advisor. Advisors can help you explore majors, pick classes, locate tutoring resources, shop study abroad options, find ways to gain real-world experience or declare graduation.
You can find your assigned advisor by logging into Navigate, where you can see your advisor(s) listed at the bottom right side of the page in the Your Success Team box, or in the Resources section under the People tab. Graduate students should reach out to their program directors to connect with their advisor.
You may have more than one advisor due to dual majors, minors, athletics, pre-health programs or international student status. If you have questions or need any forms filled out by an advisor, it is always best practice to start with your "Primary Academic Advisor" first.
All first-year students (students who have never attended another university since graduating from high school) are assigned to a team of advisors in University Academic Advising.
Transfer students and upper-division continuing students are advised by college/school/department-based advisors in each major.
Students seeking advice about pre-professional health programs such as pre-medical, pre-dental and pre-physical therapy can visit the Office of Pre-Professional Health.
Students who are admitted to the Honors College can use Navigate to schedule an appointment with their Honors advisor.
